Lottery Hongkong

Lottery Hongkong is one of the biggest lotteries in the world. It is run by HKJC Lotteries Limited, a subsidiary of the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

The first Mark Six draw was held on 5 September 1975. It was launched to stop illegal lottery games in China. Players choose six numbers from a pool of 49. They must match the numbers in the correct order to win.

The Mark Six has seven prize levels. The largest jackpot is HK$100 million. In addition to the jackpot, the prize fund is built up to almost HKD$100 million. If there is no winner, the money is added to the next jackpot fund.

The Mark Six game was not popular at first. However, after the introduction of the Snowball Pool, it became a huge hit. During selected draws, a certain percentage of the entry money is placed in the Snowball Pool.

It is now one of the most popular lotteries in the region. Tickets can be purchased online and in various locations across the city. There are also several regional stores where you can play the game.

The Hong Kong Lottery has been adapted to the 49-ball format in 2002. The final number in the draw is unique. This special number is known as an extra number in English and Chinese.

Aside from the jackpot, players can win prizes in the 1st and 2nd division. These awards are HK$8 and HK$100 million respectively. Among the winners, a couple of lucky players will share the prize.
